Right Angle Weave Stitch Bezel

Step 1

Create a section of right angle weave that is thirteen bead units long and two bead units wide.

Step 2

Check the fit of the strip of beadwork around the fancy stone. The beadwork should be one bead short of touching when wrapped around the stone.

Step 3

Bring both ends of the beadwork together so the beads line up. With the needle exiting one of the two end beads headed toward the middle of the strip of beadwork, string one bead.

Step 4

Pass through the end bead on the opposite side of the beaded strip.

Step 5

String one bead. Pass back through the end bead on the opposite side.

Step 6

Pass back through the bead added in step 4 and continue into the end bead on the other side

Step 7

String one bead. Pass back through the end bead on the opposite side.

Step 8

Pass through the bead in the center, the end bead on one side, and the bead added in step 7. The thread will be exiting a bead along the side of the strip.

Step 9

Pass back through the bead along one edge of the strip. Go through two or 3 beads at a time, and pull the tension snug.

Step 10

Continue around until you go back through the bead exited in step 8.

Step 11

Pull the tension tight. Pulling tension tight will form a cup shape as it pulls the beads together

Step 12

Weave through the beadwork to the opposite side of the strip. Place the stone into the beaded cup with the crystal side up and the foiled side down.

Step 13

Pass back through the bead along the front edge of the strip. Go through two or 3 beads at a time, and pull the tension snug. Pass back through the beads until you pass back through the first bead in the circle. This will tighten the bezel and keep the stone in place.

Step 14

Weave back through the beadwork to bury the tail.

Step 15

Cut the thread close to the beadwork. Weave in any other thread tails in the same manner.

Step 16

Congratulations, you have completed a right angle weave bezel!
