Button Flower Clip

Do you know how much it cost me to make these? LESS THAN a dollar ladies. I love cute little girlie things but seriously a lot of little girl things like this are so over priced at the mall when you can make these quick and easy and in expensive! Now let's make some cute little clippies ladies!

Step 1:

Alligator Clippies-Metal Single Prong Clips-About 1 1/2 inch long (You can find these in a box of 100 at Sally's for about 4 or 5 dollars)

Ribbon Of your choice (I LOVE sheer-not wire ribbon and make sure the ribbon is wide enough to cover the clippie)
9/4 mm sized buttons of your choice (they need to be this size and no smaller)
Fray Block (at Walmart in the sewing notions aisle)
Hot Glue Gun
These aren't all "actual" steps.  There's maybe about 5 real steps to making these.

Step 2:

Take your ribbon and measure it out to 3 1/4 inches and cut. You are going to cut 6 off these little strips UNLESS you are using WIDE ribbon (See BYU clippie) I only use 5 strips for larger ribbon.

Step 3:

Take and fold the ribbon with cut ends meeting. Hot glue the ends together as shown in picture.
Do this to all the strips.

Step 4:

Now Glue each "already-folded-and glued" strip in the center one on top of the other.

Step 5:

Glue button to the center of flower making sure to cover the glued portion of ribbons.

Step 6:

Set flower aside. Take ribbon color of your choice (this will cover the alligator clip) and measure out 4 1/4 inches and cut. Place hot glue on one end of ribbon and place the glued side UNDERNEATH the INSIDE of the TOP pieceof the clippie. Make sure it's centered.

Step 7:

Place glue on the top of the alligator clip and place ribbon over the top. Place a small amount of glue under the clippie but only the top half. SEE PICTURE IN NEXT STEP

Step 8:

Ashlies Notes: I do not place ribbon on the entire bottom of the clippie because I have noticed that when I do they fall out of my daughters hair very easily. So I leave a portion of the bottom naked. You could leave the whole clippie naked if you wanted but honestly it won't look as nice =) I also place Fray Block on the ends as seen in picture.

Step 9:

Make sure you get the SINGLE prong clips, depending on your ribbon size, it may not fit around a double pronged clip.
